\

Today, Sept. 11, 2012, marks the 11th anniversary of the 911 terrorist attacks.

President Obama and the first lady, Michelle Obama held a moment of silence on the White House lawn this morning to pay tribute to the victims of the 911 tragedies.

Check out more after the break!

The President also addressed the 11th anniversary of the 911 terrorist attacks in his weekly address, last week (Sept. 8).

It's a chance to honor the courage of the first responders who risked their lives on that day and everyday since. And it's an opportunity to give thanks for our men and women who have served and sacrificed --sometimes far from home, to keep our country safe. This anniversary is about them.
Last year, the 10th anniversary of the 911 terrorist attacks, State Farm insurance released a very moving commercial in honor of the New York Fire Department.

It had a thug (moi), shedding more than a few tears. Check it out!
