POLITICAL FIX: CONGRESS: DONKEYS VS. ELEPHANTS…THE BRAWL FOR IT ALL, AT LEAST UNTIL 2014

By: Fake R&B Thug

Some people assume and even I at one time stupidly thought that part of the President's executive powers allowed him to create laws. That is not the case. The U.S. Congress has the legislative power that enables them to make and enact laws. The President in turn has the executive power to veto (reject) those laws.

Now the structure of Congress' law-making goes a little something like this; the House introduces a bill and if it is passed it then goes to the Senate. The Senate usually amends the bill and if that amended bill is passed in the Senate, the amended bill is then sent back to the House for approval of said amendments. Once approved, the amended bill is sent to the President for his approval. If the President approves the bill then he signs it into law.

Ok, that's an enough of my separation of powers lecture for today.

The 2012 election year has some Congressional races that could hold the key to this country’s future.

POLITICAL FIX: DESPERATE TIMES, CALL FOR DESPERATE MEASURES...AND DAMN DOES WILLARD ROMNEY LOOK DESPERATE!

By: Fake R&B Thug

September 12th 2012 may be the day when we look back as the day Willard Romney lost the 2012 presidential race.

Let me take you back two weeks ago to the start of the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Tampa, Florida. The republican convention was an awful convention for the Romney campaign. It was filled with speakers who talked about themselves and their accomplishments rather than their nominee, Mitt Romney. Some people were auditioning for the 2016 presidential race *coughs Chris Christie and Marco Rubio*.
People say --mainly me, that the highlight of the week was when someones grandpa wandered onstage and started yelling at a chair for ten minutes. The last two days of the RNC, the GOP presidential and vice presidential nominees spent 40 minutes each bashing what they called the failed policies of the Obama Administration, but never offered a clear vision of what a Romney administration would look like for the country. They never offered any specifics on what they would do to fix the economy and they also never once mentioned the Afghanistan war. A war we are currently fighting and have been fighting for 11 years.
The RNC also illustrated that the Republican Party does not love Mitt, but rather, hates Obama.

NEW MUSIC VIDEO FIX: ELLE VARNER'S "I DON'T CARE" + GAME'S "CELEBRATION" FEAT. CHRIS BROWN, TYGA, LIL WAYNE & WIZ KHALIFA

TheChickFix.com

Yesterday (Sept. 17), my new favorite artist, Elle Varner, premiered her latest video, I Don't Care, on 106 and Park.
TheChickFix.com

The lyrics of the song talk about being so madly in love with someone that you literally don't care about anything or anyone's opinions regarding your love for that special someone.

TheChickFix.com

How do you make me smile
Simply by telling the time
You got the zealous eyes, eyes, eyes
I could just stare all day
Lay there and melt away
I'm such a helpless case, case, case
I've done away with my pride
They say I'm out of my mind
Can't even say it's a lie
Clearly
 I’m gone and I’m goin'
Into the deep end
Far over my head
It’s so unfair
I’m gone and it’s showin’
All over my skin
Everyone knows
Gone and it shows
But, I don’t care!

Check out the I Don't Care video after the break, plus Game's new video Celebration featuring Chris Brown, Tyga, Lil Wayne and Wiz Khalifa.

FASHION FIX: ROXXY'S FAVORITE PIXS FROM NEW YORK FASHION WEEK SPRING 2013 READY-TO-WEAR COLLECTION [ROUND 2]

Oscar de la Renta (Oscar)
*click ALL images for larger view*

As promised, I'm back for round 2 of my favorite pixs from New York Fashion Week (NYFW) Spring '13 ready-to-wear collections.

I literally want to shed tears of joy when I look through this post...*sings* nah nah nah nah, wait til I get my money rigght!

Naeem Khan (NK)...now I see why LuAnn of Real Housewives of New York was acting like a thirsty mooch.  In a previous episode, the Countess asked the designer if she could borrow some of his clothing to wear to some events...*wait for it* after all of 2 seconds of being introduced (by LuAnn's castmate Carole, the Princess) to the designer and his wife. I totally get it...now! In fact, I would have went real commoner with it and would have just asked Mr. Khan could I flat out have the clothes...what, you don't know!

J. Crew! You guys just don't understand how bangin' their Spring '13 line is, but you'll start to get the picture once you scroll down.

By booski aka my best friend forever...and ever and EVA (in my head),  Marc Jacobs (MJ)!

Check out more of my favorite pixs  from NYFW after the break!

THROWBACK PIC: QUEEN LATIFAH & TUPAC + MORE! [VIDEO]

One of the good people that run Tupac's facebook fan page posted this pic a week or so ago of the late legend with rapper/actress/producer/director (look, she does it all), Queen Latifah.

Ignore the fact that they look...faded, faded, faded (...my n___a, I'm faded!) in this picture, and reminisce with me if you will about the good ole 90s.

It was in the 90s that artist like Latifah and Tupac blossomed in the hip hop game as well as developed a camaraderie with one another. The later part seems to be lacking in today's hip hop scene and no, those DJ Khaled videos where he has the same 4 or 5 rappers who reside in Florida, sprinkled in with a little Akon-assisted chorus, does not equate to what I'm talking about.

Check out more pictures I found of the two after the break, plus one of my all-time favorite movie scenes starring Latifah!

IN SIDE-EYE NEWS OF THE DAY: MA$E HOPS ON MIGUEL'S "ADORN" + MISSY IS HEADED TO THE "9TH INNING

TheChickFix.com

Former Bad Boy artist turned pastor, Mason Betha aka Ma$e, recently added his verse unsolicited no doubt to Miguel's latest single, Adorn off his upcoming album, titled  Kaleidoscope Dream.

Ma$e raps, "...you know I want to lift your conflience (I'm assuming conflience = confidence), skip you across continents, vacay places, Mrs. Obama went."

If you like that line, wait until you hear this one: "I give you thee best, cause you're the least less."

Alrighty then...take a listen for your self.

But seriously, the good Reverend's verse isn't horrible, but it isn't good either.

And was I the only one a little uncomfortable listening to a man of the cloth rapping in general about how his sexual prowess will have:
  1. the neighbors bangin';
  2. you cryin' and hangin' like paintings and finally
  3. you needing a new perm that resemble Vera Wang hangin' [the designer's wears her signature mane bone-straight].

Yep, knew I wasn't the only one! Please be seated em-jet-lee Reverend Leone Lonnie Love Pastor Mason.

Moving right along, listen to 3 new songs from Miguel's upcoming album plus listen to a snippet of Missy's new single 9th Inning after the break!

JENNIFER HUDSON SIT DOWN WITH OPRAH FOR NEXT CHAPTER + 3 WEBISODE EXCLUSIVES [VIDEOS]

In case you were like me and completely forgot all about Jennifer Hudson's Next Chapter interview on OWN, your girl Roxxy's got you!

This past Sunday (Sept. 9), Academy-award winning actress/Grammy Award-winning songstress, Jennifer Hudson, sat down with the king and queen at the same DAMN time! of all media, Oprah Winfrey, to discuss her upcoming nuptials (she didn't dish on the exact wedding date, but she did throw viewers a bone by dropping hints.); how she and her sister Julia got through the horrific murders of their mother, brother and Julia's son at the hands of her ex-husband.

Dive into the full interview below...*warning* you will definitely shed a few tears towards the very end.

Something literally came over me at end of the interview when they began showing footage of Jennifer and Julia's charity work and pictures of Julia's late son, Julian.

I began to sob uncontrollably like Julian was my child. Just seeing pictures of that little face and knowing the way he left this world really affected me.

On a lighter note, find out who is the original J.Hud; the greatest gift Jennifer and Julia's mother gave them; why Jennifer teases her fiance about Halle Berry and more in 3 exclusive webisodes videos from the interview, after the break!

GABRIELLE DOUGLAS CAN SOON ADD PUBLISHED AUTHOR[IST] TO HER LIST OF GROWING ACHIEVEMENTS!

U.S. gold medalist Gabrielle Douglas, can soon add author to her growing list of achievements.

Sidebar: Don't you just love Gabby Gabs!

According to the Los Angeles Times, the Olympian has signed a book deal with publishing giant HaperCollins, with her first book --an autobiography, expected to hit retail outlets by Christmas.
The teenager with the infectious smile will write two books for HarperCollins' Zondervan division, the first a memoir titled "Grace, Gold and Glory: My Leap of Faith."
"I want people to read my story and say, 'If Gabby can do it, I can do it too. Anything is possible,' " said Douglas, who won gold in the individual all-around competition as well as the team event.
Douglas, nicknamed the Flying Squirrel for her high-flying routine on the uneven bars, grew up in Virginia Beach, Va., before moving to West Des Moines, Iowa, at 14 to train full time with Liang Chow at Chow's Gymnastics and Dance Institute.
She said her first book will include "how much my family and I have overcome during our journey. It hasn't been easy."
Lisa Sharkey, senior vice president at HarperCollins, added in a written statement: "Gabby Douglas shines even more brightly than her Olympic gold medals. The reason is her inner strength and strong faith."
Awe, Gabby will be a published "authorist"...Maya Wilkes would be so proud!

All jokes aside, I get so inspired every time I see or hear about this pint-size cutie...we're all rooting for you Gabby, oops...I mean Gabrielle!

POLITICAL FIX: OBAMA ACCEPTS THE NOMINATION AND CONFIRMS HE'S PRESIDENT! + PHOTOS OF THE FIRST FAMILY + GABBY GIFFORDS MOVES DNC WITH PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

The Democratic National Convention (DNC) wrapped last night, but not before President Obama accepted the nomination for presidency and confirmed that he is indeed, "the President," while simultaneously borrowing from the Hair Club for Men highly recognized slogan (I'm not only a client, I'm the President.) and arguably throwing in a thinly veiled Biggie reference!

How can anyone front on Mr. President!

Check out the President's speech plus some pics of the first family and some of my favorite quotes the President's speech, after the break!

MICHELLE OBAMA GIVES ELLE VARNER A SHOUT OUT!

Newcomer, Elle Varner got a MAJOR look the other day, when Michelle Obama shouted her out while chatting with E! News.

When the 1st lady was asked what kind of music the girls (the 1st daughters, Malia and Sasha) are currently listening to, Michelle replied, "Elle Varner. Malia (the 1st daughter) is all on top of her. So she played her new album for me and I picked out a few songs."

When word spread to Elle that the 1st lady shouted her out, she tweeted out,
"OH MY GOD!!," She followed that tweet up with, "[w]ait wait....did that really just happen!?!?! I literally prayed for this @MichelleObama thank you so much!! I'm so honored and speechless..."
Awe, isn't she cute!

Check out the video of Michelle shouting Elle out, after the break!

2012 MTV VMAs PERFORMANCE/LEFTOVER RED CARPET [PHOTOS]

Rihanna

The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) took place last night (Sept. 6), and it left much to be desired...PERIOD.

The highlight of the entire show for me was this...

Yes. The show was that bad. A combination of weak and gimmicky non-funny jokes by VMA host, Kevin Hart, coupled with just mmmeh performances from artist the viewers at home just didn't appear to be too enthusiatic about in the first place, made for a lackluster award show.

Not to mention, yesterday was the last day of the Democratic National Convention and viewers and the majority of the folks on my Twitter and Facebook timeline could not be bothered to muster up even .5 phucks to give about the VMAs.

Tough titty...

Check out some performance and acceptance stage pics below.
