NEW MOVIE NEWS FIX: SOLANGE AND JURNEE SMOLLET TO STAR IN FORMER SUPREMES BIOPIC

According to IMDB, singer Solange Knowles and actress Jurnee Smollet are set to star in a biopic based on former Supremes Florence Ballard titled Blondie: The Florence Ballard Story”.
The Supremes were the most successful female vocal group in history. Only Florence Ballard, the spunky teenager who founded the group, has remained silent. Until now.
Solange is listed on IMDB as rumored to be playing Diana Ross while Jurnee takes on the title role of Ballard. Florence Ballard’s daughter, Michele Ballard-Chapman is listed as an associate producer.

I wonder if this is the same movie that singer Faith Evans was initially rumored to be starring in.
Faith would definitely be the first person that comes to my mind for this role because of the obvious physical resemblance and singing capability.

However, Jurnee was amazing in "The Great Debaters," so I'm going to have faith. One thing is certain, Jurnee will definitely have to pack on some pounds for the role because Florence Ballard didn't appear to be one of those salad eating chicks.

It will also be interesting to see how Solange does as Diana. She has the look. Besides, Solange could always get tips on portraying Diana from her big sister Beyonce, whose  character Dena in "Dreamgirls" was obviously based on Diana Ross during her Supremes days.
