ALBUM SALES FOR THE WEEK ENDING AUGUST 21


No. 1 Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch The Throne sold 177,000 copies this week, bringing their total sales to 613,000.
No. 2 Adele’s 21 sold 80,000 albums sold this week, bringing her total sales to 3,053,000.
No. 3 Now That’s What I Call Music 39 sold 63,000 copies this week, bringing total sales to 173,000.
No. 4 Luke Bryan’s Tailgates&Tanlines sold 53,000 copies this week, bringing his total sales to 198,000.
No. 5 Jason Aldean's My Kind Of Party sold 37,000 copies this week.
No. 6 Eli Young's Band Life at Best debuts with 35,000 copies sold this week.
No. 7 Eric Church's Chief sold 37,000 copies this week, bringing his total sales to 90,000.
No. 8 Blue October's Any Man in America debut with 27,000 copies sold this week.
No. 9 Beyonce's 4 sold 25,000 copies this week, bringing her total sales to 679,000.
No. 10 Kidz Bop's compilation 20 sold 24,000 copies this week, bringing its total sales to 85,000.

No. 29 Kelly Rowland's Here I Am sold 11,000 copies this week, bringing her total sales to 130,000.
No. 33 Ace Hood's Blood, Sweat & Tears sold 10,000 copies this week, bringing his total sales to 37,000.

No. 184 Tyler, The Creator's Goblin sold 2,300 copies this week, bringing his total album sales to 104,000.
Overall album sales in this past chart week (ending Aug. 21) totaled 5.4 million units, down 10% compared with the sum last week (6 million) and up 5% compared with the comparable sales week of 2010 (5.1 million). Year-to-date album sales stand at 194.8 million, up 2% compared with the same total at this point last year (190.2 million). It is the 13th week in a row where year-to-date album volume is greater than the same time in the prior year.
