ESSENCE'S 2ND ANNUAL BLACK WOMEN IN MUSIC HONORS JANELLE MONAE

Essence Magazine held its 2nd annual “Black Women In Music” in Los Angeles last night (February 9) and Grammy-nominated singer Janelle Monae was the guest of honor.

Guest in attendance included Sean “Diddy” Combs, Big Boi, Leona Lewis, Joy Bryant, Musiq Soulchild, Melanie Fiona, Nia Long, Bruno Mars, Melanie Fiona, Toccara, Estelle, Mary Mary, Letoya Luckett, Kelly Price, Anthony Hamilton and many more.

What it do Nia!
Bruno: Oh you fancy Mel? Melanie: Huh (meaning as if there was any doubt)!!!

Monae's performance was said to have had the audience out their chair and on their feet.

Oh hell naw Key-Key! Whoever styled you is NOT (I repeat is NOT) yo' friend...and does NOT want you to win in this game called life!

Janelle is such a pretty lady!

Monae is nominated for best contemporary R&B album for her debut CD, "The ArchAndroid" and best urban/alternative performance for her single “Tightrope" featuring Big Boi.
