There is a highly anticipated mayoral race underway in Washington D.C. between incumbent Mayor Adrian Fenty and DC Chairman Vincent Gray.

Although, I am really disappointed in many of the decisions Fenty has made as mayor of  DC, I haven't really done much research on Gray, so I'm undecided until September 14.

Now to the important stuff, please feast your eyes on this utterly hysterical video (after the break) of Mayor Fenty being schooled on how to do the "hee haw," an old school DC GoGo dance, by none other than a member from the Junk Yard Band during a neighborhood concert.

This past Friday (8/13), season 3 American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino and her rumored married boyfriend Antwaun Cook were snapped in what appears to be deep conversation at a local park in Charlotte North Carolina.

The two met up just days after Barrino was hospitalized for an apparent overdose which may have been triggered by reports that surfaced earlier that week that Fantasia had been named as the mistress in a divorce complaint filed by Mr. Cook's estranged wife.

VH1 cameras were reportedly on hand at the park filming Fantasia and Antwaun's meet-up and the meeting will likely air on the 2nd season of Barrino's VH1 reality hit Fantasia for Real. 

The new season will be airing on September 19, 2010.

FANTASIA'S OVERDOSE TRIGGERED BY BEING NAMED THE MISTRESS IN DIVORCE

This past Monday a scandal erupted when season 3 American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino was named in a divorce complaint filed by Paula Cook, a North Carolina woman who alleges that Barrino is responsible for the destruction of her marriage.

Since last year, many gossip outlets had reported that Barrino was involved with a married man by the name of Antwaun Cook.

In the complaint, Mrs. Cook claims that Barrino and her husband Antwaun met at a T-Mobile store he managed near Barrino’s home in August 2009. The complaint goes onto allege that not long after Barrino met Cook she began flying him to Atlanta, Miami, New York, Los Angeles and Barbados to accompany the singer on trips. Mrs. Cook divorce complaint also alleges that her husband and Barrino videotaped “their illicit sexual activity.”

It is important to note that North Carolina is one of the few states where an adulterer, allegedly Fantasia, can be sued by a plaintiff-spouse, Mrs. Cook and the adulterer can be required to pay the plainitff alimony.

The situation intensified on Monday night when it was reported that Barrino had accidentally overdosed. The singer’s manager, Brian Dickens called 911 on Monday evening to report that Fantasia had swallowed a bottle of aspirin. Fantasia was rushed to Mercy South Hospital at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville, N.C., were she was treated.

Dickens released a statement to the press where he said among other things, that Barrino is in stable condition.

A Taiwanese video maker has poked fun at troubled actress (at this point the term “actress” is being used loosely) Lindsay Lohan’s 13-day stint in jail by creating this hysterical animation which chronicles everything from Lohan's reaction to a judge sentencing her to 90-days in jail to Lindsay “dropping the soap” in jail and possibly being violated. She's finally released to a plush rehabilitation center at the end of the clip.

IT'S A CELEBRATION BITCHES: PROP 8 IS OVERTURNED!

On Wednesday, Chief U.S. District Judge,Vaughn Walker of San Francisco struck down California's ban on same-sex marriage, ruling that the voter-approved Proposition 8 violates the U.S. Constitution.

Walker wrote in his opinion,

"Proposition 8 fails to advance any rational basis in singling out gay men and lesbians for denial of a marriage license. Indeed, the evidence shows Proposition 8 does nothing more than enshrine in the California Constitution the notion that opposite-sex couples are superior to same-sex couples," .

"Race restrictions on marital partners were once common in most states but are now seen as archaic, shameful or even bizarre," he added. "Gender no longer forms an essential part of marriage; marriage under law is a union of equals."

PAY YO' FARE!: YOUNG BUCK, OBIE TRICE, SWIZZ BEATZ & WYCLEF ALL OWE THE IRS

According to MTV News, the IRS raided rapper Young Bucks home at gunpoint this week!

Damn, what part of the game is that?

While Buck's lawyers filed a motion last month to protect his assets, the former G-Unit MC's house was raided Tuesday by the United States Internal Revenue Service for $300,000 in unpaid taxes. Ultimately, the rapper was allowed to keep his home and his car; however, many of the items inside were seized.

"The worst part of this isn't the material stuff — that will all be replaced, it's what it does to the people around me. They took my kids' PlayStation, my assistants' computers, and baby's mothers' jewelry. They took my home studio so I can't even record."

Buck blames 50 and dem for his accounting problems.

"I have a new team in place, but I am also paying full attention now," the statement continued. "Nothing like this will ever happen again. This is a huge wake-up call for all entertainers to stay on top of your own trusted employees and team members, and replace anyone that was put in place by your record label if the situation you have goes sour. This IRS situation came about because I trusted accountants, lawyers and managers to handle my business for me while I focused on making music. From now on, I am going to stay on top of my own business."

In June, the IRS filed a $298,051 tax lien against Eminem's former protege rapper Obie Trice, with the Wayne County Register of Deeds. The address on the lien is the rapper’s mother's home in Detroit.

Detroit News could not reach the rapper for a comment, but they were able to speak with Trice’s father who is also named Obie Trice. Trice senior said he would try to pass a message along to his son and he also explained he didn't know anything about the tax lien.

However Trice senior added, "I know that's not me. I've never made that kind of money to get that kind of tax debt.”

WELLING LIKE WELLINGTON PARK: WHOOPI ASSAULTS WHITE HOUSE PARTY CRASHERS ON THE VIEW

Yesterday on The View, the new cast of Bravo’s Real Housewives of D.C. (RHODC) were guests on the show and everything was going as planned until one of the RHODC cast (take a wild guess who) claimed to producers that co-host Whoopi Goldberg had *side eye* assaulted her.

When Michaele Salahi and her Real Housewives of D.C. castmates — Mary Schmidt Amons, Lynda Erkiletian, Catherine Ommanney and Stacie Scott Turner — appeared on the ABC talk show, the newly-minted reality star was rattled after she said Whoopi Goldberg, who was offstage for the segment, walked on the set, touched her arm and tried to refocus her on the topic at hand: her alleged crashing of the White House state dinner last November (Roxxy: I'm still peeved (but understand why) Desiree Rogers lost her job over these fools).

Though the encounter occupied no more than several seconds of airtime, offstage, an ugly scene reportedly happened when Salahi and her husband Tareq complained to producers about what she tells PEOPLE was a “humiliating and torturous” experience at the hands of Goldberg — and her View co-hosts.

“The first encounter I had with this woman is her grabbing my arm and telling me to change the subject,” Salahi tells PEOPLE in a phone interview Thursday. “It was very inappropriate … They want to torture me. I didn’t know [being interviewed on the View] would be this horrific.”

According to a statement on ABC’s Web site, Salahi told producers that Goldberg “hit” her. Salahi tells PEOPLE she used the word “grab.”

Goldberg doesn’t deny the backstage confrontation happened but denies she hit Salahi. “You know how I [denied it],” she said, “choice words. And I make no apology for my choice words.”

But the situation escalated after Salahi’s husband Tareq intervened.

“Tareq, my husband, said you need to apologize to my wife,” Salahi tells PEOPLE. “Whoopi doesn’t like to be told what to do. He said, ‘We’re just guests and this is an inappropriate way to treat guests.’ “

But Goldberg says Tareq “got in [her] face, had his BlackBerry out and started taking pictures of me. And needless to say, I really went off on him. And there was even more choice words. It was so choice, you could have cut it with a knife and eaten them.”

At this point, Salahi says, “I was really sobbing (Roxxy: cry me a phucking river!). I just wanted to get out of there.”

While Goldberg had no more to say about the matter Thursday, and co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck read a statement on air from Salahi’s attorney reiterating that no charges were levied after the alleged White House crashing incident, Salahi says she doesn’t understand where all the purported hostility came from on the set of The View.

“Whoopi, I don’t know you. I never saw Sister Act,” she says. “I don’t know much about her. The fact that I have had no encounters with her except this hostility, I don’t know where it’s coming from. It’s just another really painful learning lesson.” Source

Pardon my gangsta Chicks and Dicks but I have to justify my thug. I just couldn't muster up the strength to stith through the foolishness in this bullshit ass story to type out an accurate account of what occurred...so I let People Magazine do what it do!

Michaele knows good and well that 1) Whoopi did not hit her raggedy ass (By the way, fire your colorist STAT! From the looks of your hair on last nights RHODC premier, she clearly doesn't want you to win!) and 2) her and shady ass husband just want to be as Suge Knight once famously put it, all up in the videos, i.e. they just wanna be seen...knock yourself out!

Oh and another thing Michaele, stop frontin' like you don't know who Whoopi be...you might not have ever seen Sister Act I or Sister Act II (I doubt it...the fact that you reference that particular movie out of all the movies Whoopi's starred in, let's me know you're welling!), but you have definitely seen Ghost, Color Purple...shit even Jumpin' Jack Flash!

In related news, the Washington Post no likely RHODC representation of Capitol area women and feel the network should focus on women making a postive impact in the comunity like these 3 unsung heroes!

SHAQ SIGNS WITH BOSTON | MATT BARNES & GLORIA GOVAN CALL OFF WEDDING | RON ARTEST GUEST HOST TMZ

According to ESPN, Shaquille “Shaq” O'Neal aka "The Big Aristotle" (lol!) has signed a 2 season contract to play with NBA’s Boston Celtics, worth $3 million.

Shaq will join teammates Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnet (cutie!), Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo and newly signed center Jermaine O’Neal (no relation).

"I am honored to be joining the Celtics," Shaq said in a statement issued by the club. "I have played against Paul, Ray, Kevin, Rajon, and Jermaine for many years and it will be great to be able to call them my teammates. I cannot wait to get to Boston to get started in pursuit of another championship." Source

This is taking me back to my childhood years in the late 80’s and 90’s when there was at least 4 superstars players on every team; you knew there names even if you weren’t into basketball …ah, back when the NBA was exciting to watch!

Now if we can only get my guy A.I. on a winning team so he can get at least one championship before he retires…all will be right in my world.

WYCLEF OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCES HIS PLAN TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT OF HAITI | IS SEAN PENN J.O.S.E.IN?

Former Fugee star Wyclef Jean has formally filed papers to run for president of Haiti in the country's upcoming election on November 28. Jean wrote,

Dear Reader,

My four-year-old daughter, Angelina, and my wife, Claudinette, are the angels of my life -- and I know this year has been especially trying for them, as my efforts for Haiti have taken so much more of my time since January, when the devastating earthquake nearly destroyed my home country. In fact, my concern for my family was my primary thought as I was being urged by others to seek the presidency of Haiti.

Jean is a native of Haiti and was very visible assisting the struggling country during the earthquake disaster relief earlier this year. Jean reportedly raised $9 million in earthquake relief donations through his non-profit organization Yele.

However, Jean who was the chairman of the organization (he officially stepped down as chairman of Yele yesterday) came under scrutiny when it was alleged that he was paid by the organization to perform at fundraising events and that Yele had purchase advertising air time from a television station he co-owns.

Jean has vehemently denied any misappropriations of Yele funds, however now that he has formally announced his plan to run for president of Haiti people like actor Sean Penn are "very suspicious" of his motives.

So tonight MTV premiered two highly anticipated music videos -- Kanye's Power (actually a clip of the video) and Eminen's Love The Way You Lie featuring Rihanna.




The Power director was spot on with his description, from the clip the video definitely has a Michelangelo picturesque feel to it. I can't wait to watch the the entire video! By the way, I can tell 'Ye spent some guap on this video...niccceee!

Today is President Obama's 49th birthday (Sidebar: yesterday was my Mommy's birthday...I love that crazy women!) and The Chick Fix would like to wish the President a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Reports are that the President will be spending his birthday without his family this year. First Lady Michelle Obama went on a trip to Spain with daughter Sasha, and Malia is away at summer camp.

The President is flying back to Chicago and spending his birthday hanging out with friends at his home in Hyde Park.

KANYE PREMIERS "POWER" VIDEO TOMORROW ON MTV

Rapper/mega producer Kanye West is set to premier his new video Power off his highly anticipated 4th album, formerly titled Good Ass Job, on MTV tomorrow (8/5).

In a coming video for his single “Power” that was directed by the artist Marco Brambilla, Mr. West is seen standing imposingly with a heavy chain around his neck. As Mr. West raps the camera slowly zooms out in one continuous, unedited take to reveal him in a classical structure, surrounded by female attendants who are partly or entirely nude; some kneel before him on all fours, others wear devil horns and still others are suspended upside down from the ceiling. The Sword of Damocles hangs precariously over Mr. West’s head, and behind him an unseen executioner is preparing to strike him with a blade. Source

FASHION FIX: MADONNA & DAUGHTER LOURDRES ARE MATERIAL GIRLS FOR MACY'S

Yesterday department store giant Macy's, premiered pop icon Madonna and her 13 year-old daughter, Lourdes "Lola" Ciccone Leon's new clothing line Material Girl. The new line will be available in 200 select locations and online.

Madonna says in a promotional video for Macy's,

"I always have two reactions when Lola comes into my room with an outfit on. One is, oh my God, she looks amazing, what incredible style. My second reaction is, she's dressed completely inappropriately for school … she has a kind of a uniform at her school. Because there's a restriction, it makes her have to be more creative and more resourceful. I really like the way Lola dresses, and this line is an extension of her taste."

Madonna says she chose to bring her new line to Macy's because it "seem[ed] like a no-brainer." She adds, "Macy's is accessible, everybody goes there --  there are stores across the country." Source

R&B singer/songwriter/ producer Faith Evans is gearing up to release her 5th solo album Something About Faith on October 5, and she recently released her first single Gone Already.

Faith wrote on her Twitter page (sidebar: follow The Chick Fix on Twitter!), "[h]ey Tweeps, my official 1st single "Gone Already" premieres today....the new album is fiyah...Something About Faith in stores 10.5.10 :)"

MUSIC FIX: BRANDY & RAY J GEAR UP FOR JOINT ALBUM

According to VH1, Grammy Award-winning R&B singer Brandy and her brother Ray J are set to release a joint album later this year inspired by their VH1 reality show Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business.

The sister and brother duo will also be back for another season of their VH1 reality show sometime this year. The season will see the pair in the studio working on their joint album and much more. The “fans want to see us back in the studio,” says Brandy.

This season should be interesting.

You know what would be really dope, if Shorty Mack "blesses" them with a couple of bars on the album, ha!

Accordng to My Fox Atlanta, Tiger Woods will be giving his soon to be ex-wife Ellin Nordegren the Florida home the couple once shared as part of their multi-million dollar divorce settlement.

A source told [RadarOnline] that most of the terms of the couple’s divorce have been agreed upon. Nordegren was initially going to take a home under construction in Jupiter, Fla., but changed her mind and decided she wanted the Windermere, Fla., home the couple once shared, the source said.

Woods had been living in the Windemere home since he and Nordegren separated but will reportedly move into the Jupiter home permanently.

“It’s got a state of the art gym and was built to his specs. And it keeps him just a few hours’ drive from his children,” the source told RadarOnline.

The source said Nordegren has not decided if she will move into the Windermere home or sell it. “But one thing is for sure, she will walk away from the marriage with enough money to do whatever she wants,” the source added.

The couple separated after a confrontation last November over Woods’ affair with New York hostess Rachel Uchitel. Woods entered a rehab program for sex addiction, where he admitted to affairs with as many as 120 women (damn whoadie!), according to a National Enquirer report.

President Obama signed the Fair Sentencing Act bill today repealing the disparities in sentencing for use of crack and powder cocaine. The former law was enacted 25 years ago and it had an overwhelming affect on the rise in prison population.

In 1980 drug offenders in federal prisons went from fewer than 5,000 to nearly 100,000 in 2009.

Washington (CNN) --The enactment of the law seals a hard-fought victory for civil rights activists who have argued for years that the differing punishments unfairly target African-Americans.

The Fair Sentencing Act repeals a five-year mandatory sentence for first time offenders, and for repeat offenders with less than 28 grams of crack cocaine. The old law set the mandatory sentence for conviction at five grams.

African-Americans have been far more likely than whites and Hispanics to be convicted for -- and receive the harsher penalties associated with -- possession of crack cocaine, according to government statistics. White and Hispanic defendants are more frequently charged with possession of powder cocaine. Source

It's encouraging to hear that the bill was passed in the House and Senate through bipartisan means. However, there is always one j.o.s.e.r who just wanna be seen and in this case it's Republican House Judiciary Committee member Lamar Smith (I know what you're think, no he's not black) ofTexas.

He reportedly argued passionately against the passing the bill shortly before its passage.

"Reducing the penalties for crack cocaine could expose our neighborhoods to the same violence and addiction that caused Congress to act in the first place," Smith said. "Crack cocaine is associated with a greater degree of violence than most other drugs. And more than any other drug, the majority of crack defendants have prior criminal convictions."

Basically what Smith is saying is if the bill is passed then the cracked out Coloreds will be free to terrorize us!

In true Oprah fashion she promises to go out with a big BANG!

LINDSAY LOHAN GETS OUT OF JAIL AND HEADS STRAIGHT TO REHAB

Actress Lindsay Lohan was released from the Lynwood jail in California on Monday (8/2) at 1:35 a.m. and sent straight to an undisclosed (which I'm sure the paps will disclose in the coming days) L.A. area rehab facility.

Lohan was expecting to serve her court-ordered three months in rehab at Morningside Recovery in Orange County California, but Judge Revel changed her mind last minute over the weekend because she was concerned that drugs could be easily passed onto Lohan.

Lohan was sentenced to 90-days in prison last month for violating the terms of her probation in a former DUI case. However, she only served 13 days of her sentence due to jail overcrowding and because of good behavior...no justice, no peace!

According to a source Lohan was upset that she was not able to visit with her family before beginning her stint in rehab.

"[Lindsay] feels that she deserved to spend a day with her family after she behaved well in jail," says the source.  Lohan, the source adds, is feeling "depressed." "[She] is having a difficult time accepting that she will be in rehab for the next three months," the source says. "She still doesn't think that she needs any help."

Naturally any person would be upset at not being able to see their famil, but under these circumstances Lindsay gets the side-eye from me.

First, it's not like her family didn't visit her during her all of 13-day stint in jail...cry me a river Leila (inside joke) Lindsay...cry me a phucking river!

Second, it is not like Lindsay's family can't visit her in rehab.

Finally, what I think it all boils down to is: 1) Lindsay thought she would be spending her rehab stint at Morningside where it would have been easy to score drugs to get blazed and 2) Lindsay also probably thought she would be able to visit her family before her stint and get blazed on the sneak.

Notice the central theme here is Lindsay trying to get blazed...well the Judge was one step ahead of you boo and nipped your plan in the bud!

Lindsay, this is for your own good...you need to shape up before you permanently wipe out!

Precious' Oscar nominated director-producer, Lee Daniels is set to direct The Butler. The movie revolves around Eugene Allen, an African-American butler employed at the White House for 34 years who served under 8 presidents.

NEW DOCUMENTARY CENTERS AROUND TUPAC & MIKE TYSON'S FRIENDSHIP

ESPN will be airing a documentary titled One Night in Vegas, which chronicles the late rapper Tupac Shakur and former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson's friendship.

The documentary will also detail the events of the tragic night of September 7, 1996, when Tupac was shot  and fatally wounded just minutes after watching Tyson's boxing match in Las Vegas.  

The show will air on ESPN on September 7, which marks the 14th anniversary of that fateful night. The documentary is a part of ESPN's "30 for 30" movie series.

Mike spoke with MTV last month about his friend Tupac.

"He looked very destructive. He came across as a world beater," Tyson said. "As far as his music was concerned, his presence and his energy ... the word I'm looking for is fearless. He came across as fearless. When you come across somebody that's fearless, you're a little bit in awe. You're like. 'Whoa!' He's ready to blow, too, at any moment; very volatile. He's very focused. He can go from one second to the next and get very focused." Source

This past weekend, Grammy Award-winning R&B singer Mary J. Blige launched her first fragrance, My Life (titled after her ground-breaking sophomore album) and made history by selling 50,000 bottles of the fragrance on HSN in just one day!

"Mary's husband Kendu Isaacs calling in from the green room: 'I'm so proud of you baby! 50,000 units sold!'," tweeted Women's Wear Daily on Saturday (7/31) night.

*Awe* I love Chelsea's Vera Wang wedding dress!

Former first daughter, Chelsea Clinton and longtime boyfriend Marc Mezvinsky tied the knot this past Saturday in Rhinebeck New York. The couple wed at the Beaux Arts riverside estate called Astor Courts.

The wedding was under heavy security as the road leading to the estate was sealed off and the airspace declared a no fly zone by the Federal Aviation Administration. The Clintons are said to have gifted neighboring residents with champagne for inconveniencing them with the security measures taken due to the wedding.

Guest at the wedding included  former Clinton appointed secretary of state, Madeleine Albright; actor Ted Danson and his wife, actress Mary Steenburgen; fashion designer, Vera Wang and the former president’s half brother, Roger Clinton…I hope he’s keeping his nose clean both literally and figuratively!

Rapper Clifford "T.I." Harris and his long time girlfriend, former Xscape member turned BET reality star, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle got married in Miami this weekend.

When one wedding just won't do, follow rapper T.I.'s lead. He wed his longtime partner Tameka "Tiny" Cottle in Miami Friday, only to have another ceremony Saturday. With the legalities out of the way, T.I. (real name Clifford Harris), who wore a custom-made Prada tuxedo, and his bride exchanged vows in front of celebrity friends Chilli and Kandi from Real Housewives of Atlanta at Miami's Star Island on Saturday.The newlyweds plan to fly Vegas and wrap up their wedding weekend with a third bash in Las Vegas on Sunday. In nontraditional fashion, they traveled to Europe for their honeymoon last month before tying the knot. The hip hop item dated off and on for eight years and have two children together. T.I., who is starring in Takers, has three kids from a previous relationship. Source

R&B superstar Alicia Keys and mega-producer Kasseem "Swizz Beatz" Dean made it official this past weekend when they married on the French island of Corsica.

Sultry singer Alicia Keys reportedly tied the knot with her baby daddy-to-be Swizz Beatz Saturday on the French island of Corsica. The small, intimate ceremony didn't lack for star power with U2's Bono and Queen Latifah in attendance, MTV UK reports. The bride, who is expecting the couple's first child in November, wore a one-shoulder white gown with a bump-hiding empire waist. The producer groom, aka Kasseem Dean, wore a white jacket and pink shirt. His eldest son, Prince Nasir Dean (I love his name...sounds like the name of an Arabic sheik!), sported a black tuxedo. Beatz, 31, split from his first wife Mashonda Tifrer in 2008, about a year after the birth of their son. The marriage is the first for Keys, 29. Although the nuptials were rumored for days, Beatz's Twitter feed Saturday night gave a clue that it had finally happened. The first one said, "Wowwwwwwwwww," Eonline reported. A few hours later he tweeted, "It's a brand new day :) I feel like Nas and Diddy song :) love y'all and blessing!" Source
