I was reading an Associated Press article this morning about how President Obama’s first year as President has left him… tired. Ya think?

"That weight was particularly striking during the president's exhaustive, three-month review of the U.S. strategy in Afghanistan. Images of a visibly tired Obama, his black hair now flecked with gray, greeting the bodies of fallen soldiers at Dover Air Force Base and walking through rows of headstones at Arlington National Cemetery sparked rumors that he was skipping meals and losing weight.

Not true, the 48-year-old Obama said. His weight never fluctuates more than five pounds and he still wears the same clothes he wore when got married 17 years ago. But the gravity of war did take its toll in other ways."
Snapshot of President Obama’s Year
1. Banking and automobile industry failout bailout;
2. Unemployment rate at a record high;
3. Resurrection of the universal healthcare bill
4. Ordering the deployment of tens of thousands of U.S. troops to Afghanistan
5. Visiting 21 countries in the span of 10 foreign trips
6. Cherry on top: failed, but dangerously close, Christmas day Al-Qaeda terrorist attack attempt on U.S. soil by an unusal suspect: a wealthy Nigerian-born, European-educated Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab

If the President wasn’t tired, I would be more than a little concerned to say the least.

The article also touches on the perks Obama has been able to enjoy as President. The biggest being the fact that this is the first time Obama has lived with his family, full-time since he began his political career thirteen years ago. The President cherishes the fact that he gets the opportunity to eat breakfast with his two daughters before they head off to school.

On a another note, in recent months some early supporters of the President have now become his main detractors. Critics say that the President decision-making since entering the Oval Office is in stark contrast to his election platform.

Whatever clever!

More than half of the President’s Snapshot Year list are problems that originated from the previous Bush Administration.

As I said in a previous post, many people expected Obama to part the red sea when he entered the Oval Office. He’s been in office less than a year, give him some time people!

In related news, Abu Bakr Al-Qirbi, the Foreign Minister of Yemen says that hundreds of Al-Qaeda militants have been planning terror attacks from Yemen.

Something to think about, it has been reported that Abdulmutalla  visited Al-Qaeda in Yemen in this past and he was even in Yemen just days before his failed Christmas terrorist attack aboard a Northwest Airline flight headed to Detroit.
