ALBUM SALES WEEK ENDING SEPTEMBER 13, 2009

According to Billboard,

Jay-Z’s The Blue Print 3 takes the top spot on Billboard Top 200 Chart for week ending September 13, 2009; while Miley’s The Time of Our Lives, trails far behind at No. 2; and the Whitney Houston shows us why she is referred to as "The Voice."

Jay-Z comes in No. 1 with The Blueprint 3 moved 476,000 copies in the week ending on Sunday, Sept. 13.

At No. 2 is Miley Cyrus' The Time Of Our Lives with 120,000 copies sold.

Whitney Houston's I Look To You, falls to No. 3 with 88,000 copies sold.

Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx Pt. 2 debuts at No. 4 with 68,000 copies sold.

Brooks and Dunn's #1s ... And Then Some starts at No. 5 with 55,000 copies sold.

Trey Songz's Ready slides three positions to No. 6 with 45,000 copies sold .

The Black Eyed Peas' The E.N.D. moves up four slots to No. 7 with 44,000 copies sold.

Boys Like Girls' Love Drunk debuts at No. 8 with 41,000 copies sold.

Kings of Leon's Only By The Night is down two rungs to No. 9 with 40,000 copies sold.

Taylor Swift's Fearless moves down one position to No. 10 with 33,000 copies sold.

Elsewhere on the charts, Eminen dips to No. 32 with Relapse, with around 14,000 copies sold.

Fabolous bows in at No.33 with Loso’s Way, with around 14, 000 copies sold.

Further down the charts is Beanie Sigel’s independent release, Broad Street Bully at No. 115 with around 4,000 copies sold.

Closing out the Billboard Top 200 Chart, is Method Man and Redman’s Blackout 2, at No. 200 with roughly 2,300 copies sold.

Overall album sales in this past chart week (ending Sept. 13) totaled 6.70 million units, up 7% compared to the sum last week (6.29 million) and down 2% compared to the same sales week of 2008 (6.84 million). Year to date album sales stand at 244.1 million, down 14% compared to the same total at this point last year (284.4 million).

According to Billboard,

No. 1 Whitney Houston’s I Look To You sold 305,000 copies.

No. 2 Miley Cyrus' EP, The Time Of Our Lives EP sold 153,000 copies.

No.3 Trey Songz's Ready sold 131,000copies.

No.4 Insane Clown Posse's Bang! Pow! Boom! sold 50,000 copies.

No. 5 Colbie Caillat's Breakthrough sold 47,000 copies.

No. 6 Chevelle’s Sci-Fi Crimes sold 46,000 copies.

No. 7 Kings of Leon's Only By The Night sold 45,000 copies.

No. 8 Pitbull's Rebelution sold 41,000 copies.

No. 9 Taylor Swift's Fearless sold 35,000 copies.

No. 10 Used's Artwork sold 35,000 copies.

No. 11 Black Eyed Peas' E.N.D. sold 33,800 copies

No. 12 Maxwell's Black Summer's Night sold 29,900 copies.

No. 26 Letoya Luckett's Lady Love sold 17,900 copies.

No. 30 Eminem's Relapse sold 15,400 copies.

No. 32 Fabolous' Loso's Way sold 14,600 copies.

No. 39 Michael Jackson's Definitive Collection sold 11,800 copies.

No. 77 Beanie Sigel debuted Broad Street Bully sold 6,600 copies.

No. 160 Mayer Hawthorne's Strange Arrangement 3,000 copies.

Overall album sales in this past chart week (ending Sept. 6) totaled 6.29 million units, up 8% compared to the sum last week (5.82 million) and down 7% compared to the same sales week of 2008 (6.75 million). Year to date album sales stand at 237.4 million, down 14% compared to the same total at this point last year (277.6 million).
