RECAP OF THE 2013 MTV'S VMAS AKA NO BLACKS ALLOWED...TO WIN AWARDS (RED CARPET + PERFORMANCES + WINNER'S LIST + FOOLISHNESS)

If looks could kill you would be an Uzi or a shotgun...BANG!

Chicks and Dicks, please take a moment to scan the faces of the crowd in the above photo from last nights (Aug. 25) 2013 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs)...AND pay very close attention to Rihanna's face.

The look on people's faces is a mixture of disgust, bewilderment and 'this bitch (yes, you Miley) REALLY tried it tonight, didn't she?', with a smidgen of 'I could've had a V8!'

...And that pretty much sums up my feelings regarding last nights VMAs aka The No Blacks Allowed...To Win Awards

I mean seriously, *DMX voice*  what types of games are being played?!?!

To keep with the theme of the 2013 VMAs aka gentrification personified, it was only fitting that the awards be held at the Barclays Center in the new Brooklyn in New York!

Now 10-15 years ago, if the VMAs were held in Brooklyn that would've meant something to me, but this is a new gentrified Brooklyn, so I was unimpressed.

***SAVE THE DATE***: 50TH ANNIVERSARY "MARCH ON WASHINGTON" IN DC AUG. 24, 2013 + PRES. OBAMA SCHEDULED SPEAKER + MORE!

This upcoming Saturday, August 24, 2013 the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom will take place in Washington, DC.

The commemorative March will take place at the Lincoln Memorial along the historic 1963 route from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Global Freedom Festival will also be held that day on the National Mall from 2-6 p.m.

President Barack Obama is expected to speak at the “Let Freedom Ring” Commemoration and Call to Action on Wednesday, August 28, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lincoln Memorial.

The President will also award a posthumous Presidential Medal of Freedom to Bayard Rustin, as well as 15 others. To learn more about Bayard Rustin go --> HERE!

The commemorative March this Saturday (Aug. 24) will also include speakers and groups such as: Rev. Al Sharpton, Martin Luther King, III, the families of Trayvon Martin and Emmett Till; Congressman John Lewis; Nancy Pelosi, House Democratic Leader; Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer; Randi Weingarten- President, American Federation of Teachers (AFT); Lee Saunders- President, AFSCME; Janet Murguia- President, The National Council of LaRAZA; Mary Kay Henry- International President, Service Employers International Union (SEIU); Dennis Van Roekel, President, National Education Association (NEA).

There have been varying estimates of the number of people expected to attend the March this Saturday. D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier estimates roughly 30,000 to 50,000 people, while various media outlets estimate anywhere from 100,000 to 500,000 people will attend the March.

How telling is it that the purpose of the March 50 years ago (jobs, racial and economic equality for African-Americans, women's rights, etc...) are issues we are STILL fighting for 50 years later. #JusticeForTrayvon

The more things change...the more they stay the same!
The week-long 50th anniversary commemoration will include the following marquee events:

CHICKS ON THE GO!: LADY GAGA, BEYONCE, RIHANNA, OPRAH & BRITNEY!

Lady Gaga was spotted leaving the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, California yesterday (August 15).  The Lady will be performing her first single off of her upcoming album ARTPOP at the MTV VMAs on August 25. The single will be released on August 19 and her ARTPOP album will follow on November 11.

Beyonce debut another new short 'do! This time it appears she cut one of her many lacefronts (heck she got that *Stevie J voice* "bread", she likely purchased one to chop up) into an asymmetric bob!

The superstar was spotted with her hubby Jay Z and their adorable little nugget Blue Ivy (pictured much further below), leaving lunch at Da Silvano restaurant in Miami, Florida New York City yesterday (August 15).

MEMO TO THE CARTERS:
If  you weren't informed already, "we"  (All Those Against The Unfair And Unjust Trayvon Martin Verdict) are boycotting Florida until its Stand Your Ground Law is reformed, repealed or overturned! #YesMiamiDoesCountAsFarAsBoycottingFloridaIsConcerned

Oops! I apologize for incorrectly stating that Beyonce and Jay Z was in the state of Florida yesterday.  I mis-read the information provided by the photo agency I use to get pictures for The Chick Fix blog.  The Carters were actually photographed leaving Da Silvano  restaurant in New York City, NOT Miami, Florida.

I'm EXTREMELY crunk for #JusticeForTrayvonMartin, and I whole-heartedly support the ban on patronizing the state of Florida in any capacity UNTIL the state reforms, repeals or overturns its Stand Your Ground Law, but that is still no excuse to inaccurately --although mistakenly and with out malice, report that Beyonce and Jay Z were in the state of Florida when they were not. So I apologize again for the oversight...somehow I think the Carters we'll live!

Sidebar: Shout out to Beyonce's great taste in eyewear! She's rockin' the blue mirror aviators sunglasses by Ray Ban...I got a pair myself early this year and have been rockin' them ALL summer long...they go with URY'THANG!

Rihanna was snapped arriving at the Mercer Hotel in New York City this past Thursday (August 14).  I feel like Rih (may I  call you that?) is my little turnt up and at times ratchet cousin with a good heart, even better intentions, but is at times awfully misguided by her need to play tough gurla. As always, I'm rooting for you "lil cuz"!

Oprah was spotted arriving at Jimmy Kimmel Live this past Thursday in Hollywood. The mogul has been on a publicity tour the last couple of weeks promoting the Lee Daniels directed and star-studded heavy casted movie, The Butler, out in theaters TODAY!

Britney Spears was snapped walking with her new boyfriend David Lucado to Corner Bakery (Sidebar: Don't you just LOVE that place! Three words: Chocolate Whoopie PIES!!!) to grab some breakfast.

Brit-Brit certainly has a type. She seems to like those cornfed-from-down-south-use-to-be-the-star-quarterback-in-high-school looking guys. I ain't in the least bit mad at ya Brit, just making an observation!

Check out LOTS MORE pictures of these Chicks...and Baby Blue even makes an appearance, after the break!

RANDOM ACTS OF COONERY: "CHIEF KEEF" RESPONDS TO KENDRICK LAMAR + B.o.B SHOWS K.DOT "HOW 2 RAP" + MORE!

Yesterday (August 13), Kendrick Lamar had the internet going' nuts after Big Sean's latest track Control was released.

The song did not make the cut on Sean's upcoming sophomore album, Hall of Fame (August 27) due to sample clearance issues so Sean decided to give the track he describes as straight rap sh_t, to the infamous DJ Funkmaster Flex, to drop bombs all over.

Well one rapper felt some type of way about Kendrick leaving him out of  his rap-peers-shout outs line in Control!

Chicago juvenile delinquent rapper, Chief Keef decided to write out his feelings and it wasn't pretty (see the photo above).

GOOD DEEDS: NAS RAISES MONEY TO HELP A D.C. SINGLE FATHER OF 8 FIND A HOME

It's good to know that there are still some awesome people out here in this sometimes cruel "cold world, [with] no snuggie." And sometimes these awesome people can be your favorite rapper!

Grammy nominated rapper Nas bin Olu Dara (tried to tell y'all he's my fav) Jones was so touched after learning about a District area man, Stanley Young's unfortunate story that Nas was not only moved to donate money but he also started a Crowdtilt fundraising page where others, like you and me can donate to assist the Young family.

Stanley Young of the District of Columbia is an unemployed father of 8 children and a recent widower. And just when it seemed like life couldn't any worse for the Young family, they recently lost their home in a fire and are now just days away from being homeless.

LIFE FOR ME AIN'T BEEN NO CRYSTAL STAIR: CINDERELLA AN ALCOHOLIC, RAPUNZEL BALD DUE TO CHEMO, LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD OBESE & ADDICTED TO FAST FOOD & MORE PRINCESSES STRUGGLE!

"A dark image of Cinderella shows her sitting with her head down in a dingy bar, holding a shot glass as a group of men look on."

I bet Walt Disney NEVA thought there'd be days like this!

As you get older and weather through life's ups and downs you begin to side-eye the f__k out of Disney and the like for feeding you a bunch of crap growing up.

To quote Jay Z, "this ain't a movie dawg" and life ain't no fairytale champ!

Fallen Princesses is a project by Canadian photographer Dina Goldstein and it shows "iconic characters having succumbed to tragic fates, including cancer, alcoholism and unhappy marriages."

The inspiration behind the Fallen Princesses came about when two events happened simultaneously in Dina's life, her daughter became interested in princesses and her mother was diagnosed with cancer.

A modern Rapunzel has lost her precious locks to chemo.
'The two events collided and made me wonder what a princess would look like if she had to battle a disease, struggle financially or deal with aging,' she said.
'I began to imagine what could happen to the princesses later in life and after the happily ever after. Naturally they would have to deal with challenges that all modern women face.'

"The modern version of Little Red Riding Hood is more plump than little. She is pictured in the woods sipping on a large fountain drink and cradling (Not "cradling" though, HAAA!!! They got jokes!) a picnic basket of fast food, a symbol of today's obesity epidemic."

FIERCER-DAN-FIERCCCE!: BEYONCE DEBUTS NEW PIXIE CUT

Yesterday (August 8), Beyonce debut her new pixie haircut when she posted 3 pictures on her Instagram page of her new do'...and all I can say is, *Lil Mama voice* I'be LOVIN' it, I'be, I'be, LOVIN' it!

The haircut, or shall I say lacefront cut ('cause y'all know Celestine aka Miss Tina Honey Bey ain't cutting her real hair that short...not in Miss Tina's lifetime!) is refreshing, modern yet classic and now Beyonce doesn't have all that hair distracting us from her purty face.

Nice to see she switched it up! #YouGoGurl
