THROWBACK THURSDAYS: MCDONALD'S 'CALVIN'S GOT A JOB' COMMERCIALS!

Back in the early 90s McDonald's created a series of commercials centered on an African-American teen named Calvin from the neighborhood. Through each commercial we saw Calvin's progression from a wayward teen to becoming a part of the management team at McDonald's.

The commercials were meant to promote McDonald's commitment to giving back to the African-American community by providing jobs to people in the community and a possible career path.

Shoot, you could very possibly even one day own a McDonald's franchise if you let these McDonald's commercials tell it.

"Hey, I started out mopping the floor just like you guys. But now... now I'm washing lettuce. Soon I'll be on fries; then the grill. In a year or two, I'll make assistant manager, and that's when the big bucks start rolling in." -Maurice (Louie Anderson), Coming To America
