FIRST LADY MICHELLE OBAMA VISITS THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO [VIDEO] + PRESIDENT OBAMA STOPS BY THE DC AUTO SHOW [PHOTO]

Chelly said screwed the winter...she's ready for spring! I like her look....A LOT!

The other day, First Lady Michelle Obama stopped by The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and discussed everything from her mom making her favorite cake --red velvet (a woman after my own heart) for her birthday two weeks ago; to admitting that President Obama serenades her ALL the time.

*deep long drawn out sigh* Awe, so sweet!

The First Lady even discussed how she will handle if and when Sasha inquires if she can get a cell phone like her big sis Malia, who was recently gifted with one.

Chelly kept it real Claire Huxtable-like, sorry Sasha!

KANYE WEST SET TO SHOOT FILM IN THE MIDDLE EAST

Photo: Bauer Griffin

According to The New York Observer, rapper/producer/designer Kanye West is gearing up to shoot a film somewhere in the Middle East.  The project is said to be similar to his 30-minute mini-movie Runaway, which he shot in 2010.

The movie is set to be filmed sometime in March.

Sources tell The Observer that Kanye sent members of his team to meet with film companies and government officials based out of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Doha, Qatar to explore the idea of a production.

A number of local municipal officials and film companies are said to be engaged in what was characterized as a heated bidding war for the contracts involved in bringing Kanye’s vision to life.

Kanye’s team is moving to the region for a few weeks to scout actors from the region and get a feel for the culture.

I'm interested to see how this story develops...you know everything Kanye does...he does, BIG!

Ms. Mogul in the making and all around good girl, Angela Simmons was snapped attending the New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden in New York City yesterday (Feb. 1), looking cute in the face, slim in the waist, but her hair...was a disgrace!

NEW MUSIC FIX: MAC MILLER'S "DIG THAT" FEAT. CAM'RON

Mac Miller showcases a more laid back --70s pimp-ish flow even --than I've become accustomed to hearing from him, and I'm diggin' it!

According to Shadow and Act, BET's The Game star, Tia Mowry-Hardrict has landed the lead role in an upcoming ABC Family movie titled Mistletones.
[Tia] will play a singer named Holly who auditions for a singing group called the Mistletones, which was founded by her mother some 40 years ago, but ends up losing the open slot to the best friend of the group’s leader Marci (played by Tori Spelling), which inspires Holly to create a new group that eventually challenges the Mistletones in a singing competition.
According to THR, shooting is scheduled to being this month in Utah.
No word yet on when the film is set to premiere, but I'll keep you posted if and when any new information surfaces!

BLACK HISTORY MONTH SPOTLIGHTS: DONALD "DON" CORNELIUS + DON DIES AT 75

"I figured as long as the music stayed hot and important and good, that there would always be a reason for Soul Train."
Donald Cortez "Don" Cornelius was born in Chicago on September 27, 1936.

Don got his start working as an insurance salesman in the 1950s. Cornelius later attended broadcasting school in 1966. Originally a journalist inspired by the civil rights movement, Cornelius recognized that in the late 1960s there was no television venue in the United States for soul music, and introduced many African-American musicians to a larger audience as a result of their appearances on Soul Train, a program that was both influential among African-Americans and popular with a wider audience.

Don pitched his TV idea for an African American version of Dick Clark's American Bandstand, using $400 of his own money to film a Soul Train pilot in 1969. He took the show's name from a music promotional event that he had recently staged.

"I'm Don Cornelius, and always in parting, we wish you love, peace and soul!"
The Saturday morning show, which debuted in Chicago in 1970, was popular enough to be syndicated the following year. On it, Cornelius introduced some of the top names in R&B, including Aretha Franklin and Smokey Robinson, and, over time, rock stars and jazz acts also appeared.
